did you order a trans brace? heard it would take about 2 weeks...
I'm told jenny (who always answered the phone)& her husband (the guy who was "DTE", was his name Phil?) are gone and there are new owners. Sounded like they were trying to get a handle on the business - old & new. Don't want to put anything negative out there to i know the facts.
I would advise caution at this time on any orders.
That's too bad, I have had several dealings with DTE (Phil) and am very pleased with the products received and the advice provided. Hope all is well with them.

He built & installed my present rear and I am happy with the work, I was going back for more.
Apparently they knew at least since last October that they were selling their business but I don't know when that happened. Made a cell phone call to Jenny about 3 weeks ago and she said she was busy at the moment and asked I send her an email (which I did, trying to schedule my install). There was no reply to the email. It appears they were gone at that time (with my deposit) and she did not give me the courtesy of telling me.
Spoke to "Jeramy" yesterday and he said he'll get back to me about the situation.
Got an another message from Jeremy last week, still waiting to see how my situation comes out. If the DTE name is going to survive and thrive, they need to execute some customer service adjustments or risk the wrath of unhappy customers. Hoping I'll be able to post good news soon.

I don't know about you but most businesses that go under, the Business Name is not worth much and I doubt they will picking up DTE's liabilities depending on what the sale agreement terms were.
I'm going to subscribe to this thread just to see where this goes.
I know lots of people on here have had good experiences with DTE, but that wasn't my case. I hope things turn out OK for the OP, but as far as DTE goes, this is probably a case of "what goes around comes around".

Hopefully, you used a credit card.
DTE didn't go under, but there are issues with the original agreement of the sale of the business.

As I stated in above comments, I did not know what kind of sale transaction that took place between "DTE" and the "Aquirer's".
Whether it was an asset sale, stock sale or some hybrid transaction will determine whose liabilities are what.
DTE has not been very active the last few years as several other competing vendors took a large market share away from them, through better pricing, warranty and offerings.
Not really sure why anyone would buy DTE's business from them given the above market conditions. I always received good service from DTE myself and hope them the best.
Lots of businesses suffering from the economic downturn and I don't really see any indiciation that it is getting any better soon.
Hopefully, the job market will come back which will fuel economic growth again.
I'm no expert on this subject, however, there seems to be something that sounds a little familiar to me...
A year or two ago, I was having an Opti-Spark issue on a Camaro that I also own. I was doing some research on an alternative distributor, and the "Dynaspark" distributor, made and sold by DTE, came up a few times. In fact, there was a lengthy discussion here, at CF, in the C4 section, and the name "Phil" was mentioned a few times.
OK, the plot got thicker, as DTE sold off the Opti deal to another company/investor, and things got a little "muddy". However, after reading this thread, and seeing the name "Jeremy" being mentioned, I seem to recall that name also mentioned in the previous ignition system discussions.
Possibly, "Jeremy" has taken over complete control of DTE??? Just my $0.02 worth....

Received a telephone call from Steve Dager, VP now at DTE to discuss my situation which was a deposit made for work when Phil & Jenny had the company but work uncompleted after the sale of the company. After discussion and providing payment information, several solutions were offered by Steve to remedy the situation and I should be made whole (and Happy) in a few days.
Steve impressed me as a person who is capable and willing to do the right thing for the customer(s) who may have a problem that may have developed from the sale of the company. His background leaves me to believe the new DTE can and will treat their customers right and perform quality work.
As often advised on the forum to some posters, please pursue contact with those involved and be reasonable BEFORE putting out negative statements that could hurt the company and yourself.
I would like to thank Jeremy for bringing my situation forward to Steve so that a solution could be reached.
PS - DTE's new number is 260-444-3586 as provided in a recording at the old DTE #.
