Default Newbie..

I started a thread in the new guys thread and was recommend to also post it here for better advice.

Ok my current car is a 05 Subaru STi with TONE of mods put down 540hp on 93 640 on 110. Reverse has bit the dust and for giggles i put up for trade/sell until i had the time to pull it and fix it. Well i got offered a 1999 Corvette Black in color. Here is a snipit of the ad

"4k on new motor built with mahle pistons, clevite bearings, arp rod bolts, arp head studs, slp high flow oil pump, ram air intake, msd plug wires, and ngk one step colder plugs, borla long tubes, borla xpipe straight through exhaust, spec clutch, and i have a nitrous kit with pills for a 100 or 150 shot but has not been installed. The car has been tuned by my boss and owner of motion lab tuning on a dyno dynamics tuning with hp tuners and put down 336rwhp and 370rwtq."

Shouldn't a ls1 vette be putting down more then that? What would you all do? Is there a performance guide anywhere or stage chart. Would like a idea of what helps the most and what doesn't in case i get it. I know it wont be able to keep pace with sti in the straight or twisties but just wondering how off it will be.

Hi again, just wanted to say sorry, I misread your original post. I thought it was dyno'd with the nitrous. I think it's right for the equipment stated but see what the C5 guys say. Sorry for my confusion. :o

Well onto that how save is nitrous for a ls1 ? i'd much rather be built motor making same the bottle. Or for that matter boost but from what i've seen boosting a vette is WAY over priced..

Not enough information in your first post to determine what the Corvette's engine should put out....sounds way too low, though. Your second post makes no sense to me.

Its just a rebuilt motor 10:1 with long tube headers,x-pipe then straight back from there. Also has a intake. As for the second post i was just saying that i hate nitrous i'd much rather have a all motor car or boosted car making the same HP as a nitrous car. Then i was saying turbo/supercharger kits for vettes from what i've seen are WAY over priced.
