Default Interesting CAI MOD

Hi,

I bought an 03 Z06 2 years ago. It has a very interesting CAI setup I want some opinions on. The actual air filter is similar to the halltech venom. But how it is set up is very interesting. It is essentially 2 regular carbon fiber air bridges. The one coming off the engine is regular, then it has the MAF sensor then it has a second air bridge but it is turned upside-down with the air filter after that. So the air filter is actually way down by the fog light vents and can not be seen just by looking under the hood.

How do you guys think this is? Any good? Or would I get much more performance from a Vararam or another CAI? Just want some thoughts and opinions. I would take a pic but I have it off now bc the air filter is soooo dirty!

I don’t think it would make much of a difference. The benefit of having the filter down lower ( if any ) would be negated by having the extra length the engine has to suck it in through. Its still not being forced in. Really need to see a picture to make a judgment.

The Vararam is a different deal altogether. Really depends on what you are looking for. Some swear by it, some don’t. I picked up a major improvement with one at the track. Don’t feel all that much on the street.

Could be the second bridge brings the element to the front license plate area, pull your plate cover off maybe there is a cutout and piece of screen???
