C6 shocks on C5

C6 shocks on C5
I am in need of an answer on the install of the C6 shock with little time left. My 2004 had Bilstein shocks and I changed to C6 because of a broken rear shock (pothole). The rear shocks were easy and the front were also easy but, when I recieved the front shocks there was only a mushroom shaped cushion on the top , no top cushion, washer or nut. I do not understand how to secure the top of the shock. The old cushion(bushing) will not fit over the new mushroom cushion that comes up from the bottom. It does not seem right to just install the steel washer and nut and squash the top of the mushroom cushion. I leave on Monday to Scottsdale and back for spring training. Can someone let me know what is going wrong or is it right and I am wrong.

Where did you get the shocks that failed to provide all the correct hardware required to install the shocks????
