Has anyone performed a dyno comparison of different manufacturer's long tube headers, i.e. ARH, Kooks, LG, Stainless, etc. ? I'd be interested to see the measured torque and HP differences, if any, of the various headers used on the same engine.
This is a very touchy subject since the vendors support the site. I won't post results for this reason, however I did remove my QTP Tri-Y's last year and tried a different popular brand header. The peak power was the same. The difference was down low where I lost 35 lb-ft of torque at around 3,500 RPM. Needless to say the QTP's were immediately re-installed and I still run them. Note also that the factory manifold is a Tri-Y design. Don't think this helps you much as QTP no longer makes C5 headers. There are some other tests less controversial where 1-7/8" have replaced 1-3/4" where you should be able to find data with a search.
