Still working through this problem. The reason I have been delaying on this is because I had ordered a Solar BA7 Battery Tester that I was waiting on to arrive, just to check the battery first. It came in last week and I started by hooking up my CTEK trickle charger overnight to make sure I had a full charge for the Solar test. When I first connected the Solar to the battery it showed 12.68V (full charge). I then ran the CCA Test twice and both times it came back with a reading of 304-CCA - FAILURE.

I charged again overnight and then the Solar showed 12.26 Volts? CCA showed to be 262 FAIL (Battery Rating shows 720 on the casing).

Today I took the car to O'Reilleys where I bought the Red Top 2.5 years ago and they ran their test connecting to the side terminals and battery showed good on their meter. I then connected the Solar to the top terminals to show them what I was getting on MY meter. They then connected their meter to my top terminals and the test came back "Bad Battery - 12.21 volts", so they agreed to replace it under warranty at no charge to me.

Just got the new one in and am putting it on the CTEK overnight to get a full-charge to run a new Solar test, but already, just running a quick test without a full charge on the new battery it shows 12.6 Volts and CCA of 1188!

Is that possible for the CCA to be that high when it is rated for 720 on the sticker? Solar shows alternator/charging system to be good both at idle and under heavy loads. Should know more in a day or two as to whether this was the real source of my problem.
