Default 2001 z06 - Fuel filter question

Here is the post from gmparthouse.

10287788 – 97 & 98 fuel filter – $13.09
19239926 – 99 – 04 fuel filter/pressure regulator – $81.88

I think aftermarket fuel filters, napa gold, are $47, which is a lot cheaper.

Which one should I get?

Also where is the fuel filter?

Wix or NAPA Gold (which is Wix) and your good.

Located on the inside of the driver's frame rail, just ahead of the rear wheel. You WILL need a disconnect tool for one of the lines.

Correct, and also I believe the fuel disconnect tool is the 3/8th size.

Better hope you don't mind gas running down your arms all the way to your chest, mine fought with me.

All part of the "bonding" process, right?

When you use the tool to release the line, PUSH "IN" on the fuel line when you insert the tool into the filter. Once the tool is inserted, then pull the line out..

If you don't push "IN" on the line the ridge on the line will make it very difficult to slip the tool past the three metal fingers that secure the line in the filter.

In a PINCH I have used one of the plastic caps that seal the openings on the new filter to release the line. Just cut off the end with a razor blade and then slice the little barrel shaped tube in a spiral.
