valve spring question
Hi all, not really sure where to post this but I'm putting together a stock ls6 motor and I'm using the heads from an ls2 ( I know they dont have the sodium valves lol) anyway the spring on the heads are stock springs and they are stock machined steel in color and have a blue stripe going down the side I've seen this on quite a few stock ls2 heads. However are these the same spec springs as the yellow ls6 springs or are they weaker for the ls2 cam. I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and order a set of stock ls6 springs for the motor even though its only running the stock 02 on up ls6 cam or woudl the ls2 springs be fine since they are almost new?
Thanks Dan

In my opinion, neither. The LS6 cam runs higher RPM and the LS2 heads don't have the light valves. I think the PAC 1215's would be a better choice in this case.

The LS6 and LS2, LS3 share the same exact spec spring.. I just got mine in the mail from GMparts warehouse.. The older springs were yellow the newer ones I have are blue,, part #12499224
