Default unknown button

Just purchased my first vette, So I'm still learning. I have a 2000 convertable, On the arm rest is a small black button that I dont know what it does. It is not the traction control button this button is to the right of that and back further next to the light that shows passenger airbag. I dont see the button in any pics of other 2000's. the airbag switch is in the glove box so I dont think it has anything to do with that. It does not look like it was added aftermarket

If its not labeled then it was added by a previous owner. You'll need to follow the wires to wherever it goes. Try looking in the passenger footwell under the removeable floor panel there and see if anything has been added.

ya sounds like a button that was added by the previous owner... not forsure what for exactly... is the car built at all? engine wise when you bought it? doubt it would be nos but u never know..

maybe it could be one of those electronic exhaust cut outs.

i say just push it and hope your car doesnt start saying
"self destruction sequences initiated"

Is there an LED on the button? Wondering if it is for aftermarket seat heaters.

No LED light on it. I will have to start tracing it tonight. Any chance it could be an ejection seat for when my wife complains about her hair when the top is down!!!!!!

It is not fuel door, that is in the console itself and it is marked. Time for more wild speculation. Line lock?

I got it!......its for the ion laced invisible force field that surrounds the passenger seat that prevents any outgoing messages and other extraneous enuendos...(especially for "stinkeye")....

I'm pretty sure it is the "I don't give a" switch. A dealer installed option.
