Tom

The idle problem your having needs to be resolved FIRST!

Try cleaning the MAF with MAF cleaner. Remove it from the car and just spray it out and then let it evaporate. While its apart, clean the Throttle Body with carb cleaner and a paper towel. Push it open, spray it down and wipe out as much as you can. It will flop shut when your done but will NOT shut fully! Thats NORMAL!!!!

When you reassemble the air ducting, its CRITICAL that there are zero air leaks between the MAF and TB.

Then examine the PCV vacuum line and make sure that they are not worn or rotten. Very common problem. The rubber elbow on the passengers side behind the TB that goes from the valley cover to the manifold is known to rot and leak.

Factory or an aftermarket? If it is a Granatelli, you are having a tunning issue.
