It looks like I will be replacing my BPMV. Obviously I will need to have my system bled using a Tech 2. Now, what I need to know is if I bleed the system conventionally and leave the harness off of the EBCM can I drive to the shop?
Using my hydraulics education and studying the internal diagrams I was able to find it looks like all off the solenoids are normally open and have a spring so without any computer or power to the coils there should be no way for them to open and let air in so the brakes should work like a straight no ABS setup.
You will still have air in the lines even though you haven't got to the Tech 2 use yet in order to actuate the ebtcm and bpmv so driving to the dealer or service center will be a safety issue but it can be done. It would be best if you disabled them with the switch prior to moving it.

I wouldn't even plug the harness in to the EBCM...no power going to it.
Just reporting to anyone who searches this in the future... I bled the brakes and buttoned everything up keeping the harness for the EBCM unplugged. I drove to the shop without any issues to get the brakes bled with the Tech2.
It fixed the blocked passaged that crept up out of nowhere but it looks like I still need to get an EBCM.

The dealer wanted $160. I found a very respected local shop who did it for $45. While I was there I also got a custom alignment done (what a difference!) and with the two services got out for $142.00.
I am getting code 1267: RR outlet solenoid malfunction. I was hoping since my car was neglected and the brake fluid was disgusting that the solenoid was just sticky but it looks like it must be the coil in the EBCM or whatever it is that fails in that circuit.
The EBTCM does NOT know if the BPMV is working or not. The problem is in your EBTCM. If it were me, I would pull the EBTCM off and inspect that coil and make sure that the wire isnt broken
If you have the old EBTCM, install it and see if it changes the symptoms.

Bill,
I actually just got off the phone with someone at ABSfixer to see if they had any refurbs in stock and he was pretty much telling me the same as you. I had taken the EBTCM apart and didn't notice anything obvious. ABSfixer told me that the most common thing is the solder joint for the coil will crack so I am going to take your and his advice and open it back up to check those joints.
Here is a picture of the guts if anybody is interested. If you saw my other recent post you will have seen that I found a bad coil which must have been causing my 1267 code, RR outlet solenoid malfunction. I would not recommend taking this apart if you are inexperienced soldering or lack patience.
Good Job! Were you able to repair the bad coil, reassemble and use???

I think I have a source for a new coil. I am hoping to have it sometime this week and back together by next weekend. For once I am feeling optimistic on this.
Hooray! I was able to find a coil for about $10.00. Hopefully get gets here before the weekend. I am looking forward to seeing if my skills can save me $700.00.
YOU DA MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great JOB!!
Glad it all worked out for you

Thanks. I did it all with my heavy Craftsman soldering gun since I can't find my smaller iron. I think I will finally pick up a nice station like I have been wanting. I play around with other electronics like tube amps as well so it would definitely get used. I also want to get one of those desoldering setups with the built in vacuum pump. I used one once and it was awesome.
