Do long tubes or dont bother. The cheapest are obx and XSpower (better fitment)

The OBX are 650ish but I read alot of mixed reviews on fitment, XSpower are 750ish but heard LOTS of good.

Do yourself a favor and forget any off shore Chinese garbage. On your budget, Id look for a quality used set on the bay or right here in the for sale section of the forum.

Or do yourself a favor and get the XS power brand. the ceramic coated texas speeds are also the same price. There has never been anyone disappointed in the XS power other than the people that bought the 1500 dollar models.

per this site the XS power is a USA made set.

321 stainless vs the 304 stainless that come on the more expensive brands. from everything i have read on exhausts and stainless steel, the 321 is better. 321 is the preferred quality for high heat FI applications.

Personally I would never own anything not made in the USA so I am going through my corvette and taking all of those parts that say made in Canada and replacing them.

There is a difference between certified USA 304 and Chinese 321.
No one in this country use 321 on headers that I know of.... I think certified USA forged 321 is a lot more expensive than 304 .. not sure.

I don't know of anyone who complained about a set of ARH, LG or Kooks though.

We offer ARH and there is a company in Texas right now called Big Flow Exhaust that is coming out with Vette headers as well.. They will be priced a couple hundred less than ARH most likely but will be 100% USA made using certified 304

I have xspower turbo headers on 1 of my cars. Serious heat cycles, and alot of internal backpressure, 30-35psi, and not 1 problem. Just sayin'. LOL

Nothing for 300-500. You don't want to settle for the cheap headers.

Save up a bit and grab some LGs when you are ready. They are guaranteed for as long as you own the car.

That's interesting. It's my understanding, that 321 is preferrred for turbo header/manifold setups.

Please elaborate on what qualifies a metal as "certified".

I believe nearly every plastic part is also made in Canada. The BSM's are. The front plate filler is. I think the FRC's too.

XSPower headers here. I have had them on for 4 years and not one single problem. They still look new. I bought a FAST 92 manifold with the money I saved. Also the new style XS headers are better than the ones I have on my car now. Save yourself some money and get the same results.

I know where I work certification is testing of the material to ensure it conforms to procurement requirements and it is a costly process. Only certified material are used in some applications, and once certified the material is controlled for access as well (i.e., not everyone can access, mahcine or handle the material).

Most materials are usually made to a specification and bought to a specifications without certification that the specification is met.
