LOL ... bought an old mopar to fix up and now my SAE collection is starting to be bigger than the metrics... but for the longest time the metrics were the only thing getting used.. thank god for Detroit iron
Aerospace is still SAE, A10/F16/etc, all current USAF birds I've seen......NO metric, lots of spline and 12pt
Not that well I'm afraid. It doesn't center on the valve well at all. And the recesses for the retainer miss these larger AFR parts.
When you compress the springs, the valve is not in the middle of the retainer either. Makes putting the keepers in real difficult.
Upside down
I think my AFR 205's mimic stock valve placement?
If I put a .050" shim under the base to tilt it towords the valves, I think it will work.
I'll contact Trick Flow.

Talking about metric & SAE tools... I put an LQ4 engine in my '69 Nova. Now I have a nasty combination of metric & SAE hardware. I'll have to get a bigger tool cart for working under the hood now.
I've always used the the single valve spring tool shown by CTD. It does take a long time for 16 springs. Maybe it's time to upgrade for the next job.
I added a shim under the back side of the stand. You can see it in the photo. My camera angle is not perfect. This centered the plate over the valve much better and it works very well now. In fact, if I had some .050" alum instead of .040" that I used, it would be perfect.
Shouldn't have to do this, but glad I fingered it out.
I wonder if TF designed this for a 12 degree head? Like theirs?

Honestly Ron it doesnt look like they put much into the design at all.. good on you though for figuring it out ! And maybe your right but I wouldnt think they would make that mistake?
To whom it may concern. I post a post about a Valve Spring Tool we came up with that work very well on C-5 Z-06 When we where change out springs and installed a High Performance set of springs. Being new to all this I got a Warning about the post. So all I can say It worked Great. And if I can post a photo I will.Any one want to respond send Private message .This tool beat any thing we have came across
