Ticking sound from headers
1999 c5 H/C and header upgrade. Small cam-xr265hr high lift,Pro comp heads assembled locally,(918 springs)Original rockers,New ls7 lifters,7.4 bpush rods. When started it is smooth and quiet woith normal injector sound (New 28.8 injectors). Driving is fine but when motor is hot (not over heated) a ticking sound can be heard fron the header pipes under the car. It is noticible from inside the car. any ideas. Thanks

Ticking sound from headers
I am using the 7.4 now. I removed one intake and one ex spring and installed checker springs. i manually opened the valve to the lift of my cam (.557) and the print was past center towards the ex side. not a lot.

Contraversey going on currently as to using LS7 exh rockers on a LS1
Don't know yet---
But if you are getting some noise beyond the normal sewing machine sound of a LS1--it sounds like an oiling issue when the eng is warm--
What oil and wght are you using ??
also--the ticking will most likely cause fasle knock and pull timing

Where did you get these clamps from? I don't really care for the clamps that came with my dynatech's and was thinking of getting some new ones.
