Tire trouble
mounted a brand new one up. Great,,,,,now what, I was ready to abandon the run flat deal when these were used up. But now my concern is,,,? Will the T/C act up or is there any concern for diff damage if I'm running a one rear tire slightly larger than the other?
I really don't want to buy another one, if I did, what the heck could I do with the half used one? Crap for what I will end up spending, I could have replaced all of them with a non run flat set of tires.

Dont feel bad brother.
I put FOUR brand new TOYO Proxis T1R tires on the 02 ZO6. After 5000 miles, my wife ran over a piece of bakelite on the highway that was shaped like a triangle. It pierced the tread in the center of a tread and the slice was 1" long!

I had to replace the tire and to INSURE that there wasnt any differential damage due to the difference in diameter, I replaced BOTH tires! Talk about a wallet buster!

Thats what I did!

Hey,,, this isnt the first time I had this issue. I blew the side wall out a ZO6 OEM tire: Had to buy a brand new tire and there was 15,000 miles on the OEM TIRES!!!! I was on a long trip!!!That could have caued my spring failure!!!
It was on the same side!

Broke clutch spring :

Im going to go ahead and buy the other tire. Hate it, coulda bought something usfull like GAS!
I bought my C-5 brand new, in June of '01. The following summer, with roughly 2500 miles on the clock, I ran over some sort of debris, and sliced the shoulder of the LR tire. I replaced it. You would think that a 2500 mile difference wouldn't make a big difference, right?
Several years later, with 15,000 miles on the car, I'd drive to work, 24 miles on the x-way, and catch the faint smell of hot gear oil when I got out of the car. This happened a couple of times, and I started thinking about the tires. I took a good hard look at them, and the two front tires, along with the RR, all looked to have the same tread depth. The LR, the "newer one", visually looked less worn. I got out my calipers, and measured the difference in tread depth.
I don't remember the exact difference in depth, as it was a few years back, but I'd say it was around 0.025". It was enough to make the rear end think I was turning all the time. I put on a new set of tires, no gear oil smells.....
