Seeing how the c5 has a latteral g sensor part of the traction control system is there a way it can be tapped in to for a display reout so one could know what the latteral g is?

Do you mean Active Handling? I think "Traction Control" and "Active Handling" are two different things.
Example: I have Traction Control but no Active Handling, therefore I have no yaw sensor (accelerometer) mounted under the passenger side seat. Traction Control detects differences in wheel spin between the rear wheels and modifies/changes the throttle/engine timing.
I agree with the others that suggested aftermarket units. Easy to find.
I've always been intrigued by that function on the C6. I can't imagine seeing much more than 1.5 maybe 2G for road driving. If I'm pulling 2G I think I'd be more interested in the road than the HUD/instrument.
Genuine question but, other than for novelty value, how do regular drivers use it? To me, having flown fighters for years, I never really noticed less than 3G (although I accept that was radial G not lateral G). I love the HUD but I don't miss not having a G display.
Some of the Pioneer double din stereo units with navigation have a built in g meter. It will display real time g's in one color and record max g's in another color. I have played with mine some while autocrossing, it is pretty neat. I am not sure of its accuracy though.

Absolutely.
Can it be done for less then the cost of a G-Tech Pro?
Absolutely not.
That reminds me I need to send a link to my family. Father's day is coming up and I want to know when I'm about to exceed my traction limit on the ramps! After all it's in their best interest to ensure my continued good health.
