Default Need help with clutch

At VIR today and less than 5/10 minutes into first session, clutch stayed on the floor. Happened in the next session also. On the way home I had to stop at several stop lights. Had the car in first gear and went to pull off. Car felt like it was starting in third gear. Did a quick 1-2-3-1 shift with the clutch in and the car pulled find. Have had the clutch to the floor last year at the track. I'm thinking it may be time for a replacement.Any thoughts? Thanks.

I had the same problem at limeRock last year. I installed a remote bleeder and cleaned out all the black fluid in the slave. went back to Limerock two weeks ago and same thing happened. Just ordered a new master cylinder. Going to see if this helps. Clutch only sticks at high rpm shifts. Off the track clutch works great. Car is a 03 Z06 and had no problem until last year.

Could just be the master cylinder. Mine was sticking to the floor a lot even though the clutch itself never slipped. A new master cleared everything right up.

It could be a hydraulic issue and it's always best to start with flushing the system, but given time and use the clutch will eventually reach it's end and begin to slowly slip under full power. This creates extra heat, causing the diaphragm springs in the pressure plate to become weak and meaning inevitably a new clutch. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Thanks to all for the help.
Bobtam, car is a 02 Z06 and what you posted is pretty much the way things have happened with the car. Time line and problems are about the same. Going into my fifth year at VIR (3/4 HPDE events/year) so thinking about a new clutch.

baxsom, I'm not sure that changing the MC will cure the problem. Have seen several comments where this change worked and did not work. Not sure there is a cure-all answer for this problem.

PRE-Z06, thanks for the offer for assistance and I will PM you with any questions. I think that what bothers me is I have read many posts on the clutch issue, but none that referred to not being able to pull off in first gear. This leads me to believe the clutch will require more than just fluid/cylinder repair.
