All you have to do is test the yellow wire with a meter, when the clutch pedal is in, and the key is turned to start................

I checked fuse 14 and no power. So I'm back to the ignition switch. I have tested it and taken it apart and cleaned and retested and OHMS are very low 1 and 2s. definitely under 5. Had 3 and 4s prior to cleaning. May just bus out the wire from switch to fuse 14. Will do that tomorrow as it's miller time!
Thanks Guys

.......as long as you know, that fuse 14 will not have 12 volts applied to it.......until the key is in the start (crank) position.

Did not know this
checked with key in start and there was voltage. Bad NPN . Now the question is to jump it at pnp or at the relay, until we get a new pnp

You've got me on the whole "npn" and "pnp" thing. I have only associated those terms with transistors.....

....ahhh..okay. So you understand transistors, but can't read a schematic? ........I digress.

Now that you know you have 12 volts at fuse 14, when the key is turned to start, you need make sure it is getting to the yellow wire on the TDR......when you turn the key to start.

Nope, don't know transistors either. I flew commercial Aircrafts for 35 years. I started as a mechanic and was trained on how to read schematics, just forgotten.

Can you do one thing for me? Tell me what the heck a PNP is? Is it the Park Neutral Position switch on the schematic? Sorry if this is a stupid or obvious question. It wouldn't be the first time I've asked a dumb question on here.

I've asked my share as well. Yes, it's the Park Neutral Position Switch. I just learn that a few days ago myself.
I was just in Ho town a few weeks ago for the final four post dinner and the Houston Art Car Parade.
The parade was unreal.

Yeah, the parade is different. We haven't been in so long. After something becomes too popular I usually back away.

Glad you got your problem resolved. Let us know how the new owner enjoys his ride. He needs to join the forum.

Your right the parade was great, but then It had been along time since I had been to one. Yeah,It was more fun in the early days and I was much younger too. I lived in the Houston area for awhile .I use to fly for Continental. I actually lived up in April Sound on Lake Conroe In The early 80s. Place has change in 30 year. Still a very nice town.

He is very happy, the car needs a ton of work,I bought it for parts ,but he fell in love with it. The look on his face remind me how I must have look when I got my first. I had to pay for my thou.
