Two ways to do it.
1. Drop the lower arm from the wheel hub to remove the backing plate.
2. Facing the wheel drill a hole @ the 9 oclock position in the backing plate and drive out the old studs. You will need to grind a small amount off the bearing hub also, so the new stud can be inserted.
I had a broken stud and punched it out of the axel first and used the hole as a drill location. Plug hole with plastic plug when finished.
Getting the retaining spring that holds the e brake shoe to the backing plate is a pita. I used small wire ty's to hold the spring onto the brake shoe.

Worst part of the whole project. I used zip ties around the spring to pull them into place... There's a post on here somewhere with a detailed description of how to do this... I owe that guy a beer for thinking of that. Good luck
