Default Will this setup work?

will this work on a completely BONE stock 97 a-4 vette.

Texas Speed 228R Cam (228/228 .588/.588 on a 112 LSA)
PRC .675" Lift Valve spring kit. (rated to .675 lift)
7.40" Push rods.

I'm trying to get a parts list going for a cam swap, and this is what I have so fare. Feel free to add to it!!!!!

It'll work, but you still will not get the full benefit of the cam. I have that cam but have upgraded the Intake(LS6), LG Headers and x-pipe, Vararam. THEN you'll really enjoy it.

But it's fine if you are just going to do the other mods as you go after the cam. Don't tune it until you get where you want the build to be. Be prepared for the initial rough running at idle and with the AC on. Some report no problems, others like me had problems and fixed it with a drilled throttlebody blade. You CAN get it tuned to overcome the idling issues and not drill.

You could get the cam and then wait until you get the other engine mods and do it all at one time.

Good luck and be sure to post your pics and progress!

Great! I do plan on a full exhaust and stall, which also makes me want to ask if i will be able to drive the car untuned with the stock stall for the time being until i get a new one.i only drive about 2 miles a day.

You will be able to drive the car BUT,,, you may not enjoy it. When you install a CAM & a High Stall Converter, you’re going to see some very weird drivability issues.

See this post on just a converter swap:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-its-face.html

Your VE table errors and positive LONG TERM FUEL TRIMS will make the engine run really RICH so, WOT will be down on the increased power that you will expect to see. You will spit soot out the rear.

Do all the mods that you can afford at one time and get it tuned for the BEST improvement and drivability.

Thanks! If I do end up having to drive it between cam and stall swap and tune it wouldn't be more than a week (2-3 miles a day)
