Just bought some used C6 shocks from the forum to upgrade the 2002 z51 (thanks for the nice deal, John). Car has 88K and who knows how old the current shocks can be. Casually weekend driver but a nice simple upgrade. Anything else I should change while switching..like bushings. etc while I'm at it?
Think I'll take them to a brake shop nearby. At one time they said they would change shocks for me for about $50. Wonder if the offer will still be good.
What suspension do you have??? Up- graded swaybars and metal end links will complement the shocks!! ZO6 or Z51 sway bars are a big improvement if you have the BASE suspension.
You can also up-grade to a C6 Z-51 sway bar and spring. Whick C6 shocks did you get??
I have the Z51 suspension, so an upgrade to the Z06 shocks should be simple enough. Not thinking about sway bars or springs quite yet. For my casual driving, getting the old shocks off the car is my first step.
Just wondering if there is anything else I should do when swapping the shocks that can be done or should be done.
If you have the Z-51 suspension,,, the C6 ZO6 shocks will put a BIG grin on your face. You will notice a significant increase in wheel control on rough roads and in high speed emergent maneurers!!
The ride will not be much different during normal every day driving on straight semi smooth roads! Gof for just the shocks for now.
