Default Reduced Engine Power

Hi all, my 99 coupe m6, all stock. starts after about 5 or 6 turns, runs for a while then stumbles and dies. I get reduced engine power ,svc traction control, svc active handling. the following codes where retrieved from the IPC. U1255H U1096H U1069H B2282H B2283H B2284H B2285H B0432 C1278H P0563H P1638H P1518C. I also used a scan tool and it showed these codes? P1518 P1638 P0102 P0563.
I followed the ALLDATA Procedures for P1518 code, it is telling me to change the TAC ?
am I going in the right direction?

The DIC Code reading routine should show you ALL the DTCs. Trust that one! CLEAR ALL the DTCs and see what comes back. If your getting a lot of U series DTCs, the modules are not happy with power or serial data buss info.

Before you replace stuff, clear ALL the DTCs and re- read the current stuff and work from there. C5s have a problem with power to the modules. Sometimes the ignition switch wont provide the correct voltages. Use this post and see if thats your issue:

- C5 ignition Switch repair - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...ch-repair.html

Test the fuses supplied by the ignition switch for your year c5.

Make sure that the switch supplies battery voltage and no lower.

OP,

Listen to the man,,,,he knows more about what is wrong with C5's than GM. Good place to start!

Default fixed

installed a used TAC module no help, installed a new battery and battery cable and I thought I had it fixed. problem came back after a month. I was ready to buy a used PCM but took it to the daeler instead. $800 dollars latter I have a remanufactured PCM and it is finally fixed. It also fixed my high oil pressure gauge problem, left bank, oil press, and mass airflow where all on the same connector inside the PCM. dealer found PCM voltage readings out of spec 18-22 volts.

Hmmm. I wonder what they REALLY found/fixed? So they claim, that something in the PCM was driving the 5 volt reference above the max output of the alternator (provided the voltage regulator is working)?

Yeah, sounds a little suspicious to me as well. More power voltage than the source is putting out unless there is a amplifier in there somewhere that's boosting it for whatever reason...seriously doubt that.
