I learned my lesson with inexpensive oil filters two weeks ago when I started to get a low oil pressure warning on startup and fluctuations while driving. Replaced the Jiffy Lube filter with a Mobil 1 high capacity filter and back to normal. I think the cheap filter internally collapsed after a strong weekend canyon run.

Sorry if I'm not hip to your non-standard terminology, and I didn't care enough to translate it. It's like saying, I use the shooba-dooba-super-hoopy filters (but everyone else calls them Purolator). No I won't explain my terminology. Look it up you lazy f**kers!

M1 filters are good stuff, but they charge a premium. Wix and PurOnes are just as good IMHO and significantly cheaper.

PureOne oil filters probably flow better than most. The PSID is actually pretty low for being able to flow so much oil volume.

A correctly designed oil pressure relocation kit will put the sensor after the filter, just like the OEM location.

I stopped using DELCO Premium UPF filters because they were too flow restrictive, went to WIX filters. My cold oil pressure increased 10-15 psi.
The only time you should be able to see the effects of a more or less restrictive oil filter is when the oil pump is in pressure relief mode (ie, when the max oil pressure point is achieved and some oil is being shunted back to the sump). I'm assuming you mean your max cold oil pressure (at some higher RPM above idle) was 10-15 higher.

I've used about 4 different brands of oil filters on my Z06, and all have given me the same exact oil pressure at the same oil temp & RPM points.

Yes that's right, I'm the guy who thinks up Delco's naming standards.

Personally, I like your nomenclature much better than "ecore". You're getting the first PF47-shooba-dooba-super-hoopy off the assembly line.

First of all, it's a term from Champion Labs not Delco. Delco started selling repackaged Champion filters, but they did not come up with the term "Ecore". Perhaps if you actually had googled it, you would know that.

Second, if I pick up an "Ecore" filter at Wal Mart, does it say "Ecore" anywhere on the box? Nope, that's an internal term. The box is labeled "Supertech". And that is how most people would refer to said filters. Is there a reason, other than to be presumptuous, to refer to them as anything else?

I think you have your helmet strap a lil' too tight.

Sorry if you weren't able to communicate clearly by this:

Sorry if I'm not hip to your non-standard terminology..
Just sayin' it's not my terminology. And now that you're The World's Leading Expert on filters, I'm sure you understand this.

Delco filters say Delco on the box, not Supertech. Delco Ecore filters have an "E" suffix on the part#, eg. PF-47E.

Using great oil with cheap oil filters doesn't make sense to me.

I'll stick with either the Wix 51042 or the Amsoil Ea15k32.

Wix:

Amsoil:

W/e you knew exactly what I meant in that it is not the consumer facing market terminology.

I don't think this supports your position. And I've never seen Delco filters at Wal Mart just Supertech (which are the same thing anyway) and Fram. Do your local Wal Marts have Delco branded filters on the shelves?

The three Wal-Marts in my area have Delco, Fram, Supertech, and a few Motorcraft on the shelf. I still like Motorcraft FL820S for the wife's car but Delco "E" pieces are a no-go after seeing how they're built.
