Thanks. Their website is up but the phone numder goes to a voicemail that says the mailbox is full. A vendor told me he was 99% sure that they were out of business.
Motor city mold company, the owner and the two other guys who worked there are no longer involded. MCM as it was is gone. the factory was a garage where they produced two hoods a week. Sickness and death brought these guys down, I was fortunate enough to be come friends with the owner. Mike sold the two molds they built for vacuum forming these hoods.. You wont find anyone with one of these hoods to say anything negative. At the time there was a 2 month backlog on hoods.. Mike developed another hood mold to cover a Super charger. Not sure where those molds are now...rumor had it that Eklers had one and Breathless had one... there are some clones out there, and some fiberglass clones. The original MCM hood was carbon fiber and top quality.. there was zero prep or fitment issues with these hoods.. all you had to do was paint them and put them on. I would never part with my MCM hood even if someone offered me 3 grand for it. I paid 2 grand for mine with paint. Its 8 years old and is always the focal point of my car, when someone is looking it over.
No other aftermarket hood even comes close to the fit and finish of the MCM. I got mine locally from ROUSHRAVEN who decided at the time not to put it on his car.
I bought mine a few years ago right before the bitter end.
Like everyone say's I always get alot of positive comments.
The hood was superior in construction and I am proud to
have one.
