I think most people say if you have $10- $20 bucks burning a hole in your pocket then Buy it. If you don't then save your money. I purchased one from Corvettes of houston for $9 bucks didn't notice any difference but I'm sure it helps a little.
you could just buy a 1/4 " barbed brass piece with two clamps from home depot for pocket change and do it. as a matter of fact i used the stock clamps. no problems!!!
Guys, I already have everything I need. The thread is about how much of an impact this mod makes on performance/tempature on on the LS1 in a C5. I figure it would be less on the LS1 with the composite intake verse the Aluminum for the L98 C4 for example. On that car, the plenum would not get near as hot with the bypass.

Sorry dude... It is more to keep your temperature down in the throttle body as you know... Maybe, just maybe 1 horse or so IMHO... That's it
Using common sense to say it will help is good.
But do yourself a favor, take 5 minutes and a pad of paper, and do a quick calculation. You know the air flow through the system, and you can calculate how long the air will be in contact with the surface.
Your answer will show you, without the need of any heat transfer equations, that spending that 20 bucks on a car wash will have more effect on your car than spending it on a bypass. At least a clean car will reduce drag.
I did mine almost 3 years ago. No regrets. Can't say I noticed a difference in performance, but its the small mods that add up. Besides.. the TB stays much cooler which in turn keeps the electronic TB actuator cooler. This is a good thing as heat is the enemy.. When I lived in Dallas, a friend of mine had 2 failures with that TB motor. I never had a problem. The dealer said the heat kills them.
Go for it..
