Chips Away service
Has anyone used the Chips Away paint service. I guess they use airbrush to fix minor chips. Came home today and saw that the landlord mowed the lawn. Had grass all over the car. On inspection looks like a rock was thrown into the passenger door. Three chips!! Don't want to get the entire door painted. Thought the airbrush might be a better way.

I have seen a variety of results with airbrush detailing. If the paint needs to be applied in the center of a field, the painted area may telegraph. I have seen very successful results in non obvious places and areas that had a good break point for the new paint. Heck, I had my entire nose repainted, on my previous '99, by airbrush in my office parking lot with suprisingly decent reults. The car was going back to GM and I really did not care. If I had to keep the car, I probably would not have used the airbrush technique; however, the body shop wanted my car for 2 weeks and about 800 bucks to prep and paint the nose. The mobile painter charged me about 100 bucks. Big difference in price, not such a big difference in quality. Now, I am sure that the discerning eye could see the difference between a 100 dollar parking lot job and a more expensive body shop job, but like I said, I was amazed at the results.
