I've had a " chip " on my shoulder since they let so many meanies into this forum...
I've tried to take that chip off my shoulder and plug it into the OBGYN port under the driver side knee bolster.

All kidding aside, the process known as "chipping" doesnt work with this car. You cannot just plug in a chip into the computer and expect anything. Now what you can do is mail your computer in to places like ECS and they will reprogram it for you for a very good price. There are also handheld tuners like the diablosport that will reprogram your system as well. Nothing works as well as an actual dyno tune on the rollers.

handheld tuners do not count. Do you know of a company that sells a computer chip that you have to open the PCM up and install?

We can help you with our $149 tune special, or with an AutoCal remote tuning if you do not wish to send in your PCM.

CHIP???????? It has NOTHING to do with the plugging into the PCM. You cut wires in the harness and interface with the following components:

PCM, TAC, Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor, Underhood Fuse Panel and GROUND. It DOES not alter PCM programming what so ever.

If you install a chip. you may need to rejet the carbuerator.. A new distributor and points will need to be installed too.. On a serious note.. Chips are obsolete, just as Carbuerators,Distributors, and points.. Chips were popular in the old days 80.s - the mid 90s.. No such thing as a Chip for any of our cars anymore

OK,,, Heres the REAL DEAL. If,, you want to TUNE your C5/C6 or any GM LS Engine, you will need some sort of TUNING SOFTWARE.

There are many different forms of tuning devices to change the OEM Power Train Module (PCM) tune

Tuning the PCM is done thru the OBDII Diagnostic Port under the drivers side of the dash. The tuning program is up-loaded into the PCM and the stock tune is down loaded into the tuning device.

There are hand held tuning programmers that offer simple canned tunes and limited tuning change capability Like Super Chips, Predator etc...

The more advanced tuning software is EFI Live and HP tuners and that can change just about any parameter in the PCM BUT,,,, using it requires significant tuning skills to prevent engine damage.
