Default Performance chip question

Does anyone know of a company that has a chip that actually gives gains, and is plug and play? I have a 01 coupe with auto trans and I love everything about it, I think it has so much potential and the stock tune in my opinion is very mild. I dont want to add cams or a supercharger, as I like to keep it stock as possible aside from the k&n filter. My car has 59k on it and I bought from the first owner thanks.

I have heard good things about the Turbonator. Do a google search, and very inexpensive.

Turbonator FTW!!! I have 2 of them and the whistle tip exhaust. This could be a little extreme however...

Well since you have an automatic, I would just do a mail order tune. What mods have you done to the car? You will feel a good difference in SOP feel.

You are the THIRD person this MONTH that asked about a CHIP!

GM LS engines utilize a FLASH MEMORY and requires computer software and interrogation hardware like EFI Live or HP Tuners to change the PCM memory functions.

There are also some less expensive hand held tuning units like PREDATOR and Superchips etc.. that install canned tunes into the PCM.

You can also mail your PCM to a tuner for a mail order tune. Some tuners use EFI Live AUTOCAL and that works fantastic!

THANK YOU gentleman for the honest responce, the car is bone stock I only dropped in a k&n filter. The car feels like it could gain about 10hp with just bumping up the timing, I believe the best thing to do is get a dyno tune but since I dont know or trust anyone in los angeles I wanted to know if there was a plug in chip etc that is tested tried and true with you fellas with all your experiance. Its my first vette so I apologise for my noob questions thanks in advance.

Thanks Bill for an honest answer !!! Some of these guys are messing with you !!--They bad !!!-These cars don't use chips anymore as most post 96 cars don't either--
You can benefit however from either a handheld tuner-or a mail order tune or best is a full tune from a shop using (EFILIVE or HP)
These cars are already finely tuned bone stock so there isn't alot on the table HP wise--
A handheld tuner maybe 10-15 RWHP
mail order maybe 15-20
Full tune 17-25
Being an automatic however you can make you car quicker simply with transmission tuning alone !!! typical gains 2-4 tenths in the 1/4-- without even touching the engine or the engine tune
This however requires at least a mail order or full tune--
The best handheld is the Diablo--It addresses more tables than any other--And it does have some trans tuning tables included but not as many as a mail or full tune

I can tell you that there isnt much room to advance the timing much at all until you get above 3500 rpm or so. Anything below that cause me to have timing pulled due to knock and that was only adding 1-2 degrees of timing. You may get a few ponies in the upper part of the rpm range but its nothing you are going to feel especially on a day to day basis.
