Do you have stock exhaust or headers??

Its on the passengers side of the block and you should be able to see part of the starter with either exhaust.

Had same problem, was going to change the sel. but for the price of a new starter, change starter. You have to drop exhaust to get starter out. (sux) . But no problem now till the next thing.

Ok so saturday I went out to get in the car and start it and it wouldn't crank or turn over at all. I looked all over from the top down on the passenger side to try and see if I could see the starter to give it a tap. I couldn't. Then life jumped in the way and I got side tracked until yesterday. I went out to try to find the starter from the bottom this time, but thought that I should go ahead and reconfirm that it's not starting. Well... It started. So, anyone who could please shoot me a pic of the starter from the top down of the engine bay that clearly shows it (because my blind *** can't see it) I would greatly appreciate it. As Bill said, I want to actually locate the problem and resolve it vs just replacing stuff and finding out that wasn't really the problem.

I wish I had a stock exhaust C5 to take a picture of. Mines modified with headers. I have a stock C6.

Might take a picture of that just for comparison. The C6 CATs are connected to the outlet flange of the exhaust manifold so, I doubt if you will be able to see the starter at all.

You have been given the knowledge. Until you try the techniques recommended, ANYTHING could be wrong/

Have someone hold the key to start. BANG the starter. If it cranks,, you have a STARTER issue. Most likely the solenoid BUT,,, could also be loose wires on the solenoid, the solenoid it self or a bad starter.

Solenoid and loose wires are top on the list. GET CRACKEN!!
