C1283 reading high voltage?
I'm pretty sure it was the steering position sensor we were reading... It was the middle light blue wire in the connector right where the column comes thru the firewall. Anyway my car flashes Active Handling Warming Up whenever I start driving. After it flashes this a couple times it will stop and say Service Active Handling. A buddy of mine from work is more knowledgeable than I am so I just went over to his place to disconnect the steering and read the voltage as we turned the steering wheel. Initial reading was just over 12V and the last time we read it was 11.4V. We were hoping to get something closer to 2.4V. Also, this didn't show up just out of the blue. It started after I had some service work done on the car that required the steering rack to be removed. So, we thought the wheel was turned 360 or 180 or whatever. However, it appears something else is the culprit and just showed up immediately after the work was done. Please advise why it's reading such high voltage.
