I am looking to add some more performance to my 02, any ideas where I don' t have to take out a mortgage would be appreciated, have the cat back, have the cold air, have the chip insstalled.

Thanks Al

Welcome fellow Corvette brother,

an X-pipe will not add any significant performance to your car (1-2hp maybe) but will only smoooooth out the exhaust pulses and eliminate that motorboat sound.

The only way you can add performance is if you add a FULL setup of longtube headers, high flow cats (or no cats) and X pipe....that will net you around 40 hp or so with a good tune.

Hope this helps!

I have several chips installed. They usually go on the forward facing parts of the car, like the front facia or the front of the hood, but not always.

Larger chips are more effective than smaller ones, the largest of which are usually refered to as "speed holes".

Plugs in to the connection under the steering column, down load factory settings into the computer and upload the new settings into the car.takes about 15 minutes, runs better, higher rev limiter, higher redline, and eliminates the 1>4 shift.

A simple fix for the x-pipe is visit your local muffler shop and have them open up the existing H-pipe to the full size of the pipe. I did that on both of my C5's, one cost me $45.00 (one hour labor) the other $75.00. The second cost more because a header bolt broke and so they charged me a bit more for labor and replacing the bolt. This method got rid the motorboat sound, smoothed out the exhaust and didn't get that deep in my pocket book.
