Changing entire transmission!

I was reading an article recently about a shop that did auto tranny upgrades, and they were showing the diference in the size of this opening in a cheap, generic, replacement filter, vs. the opening in a "name brand" filter, such as AC Delco, Wix, or Baldwin. Too small an opening, such as the "cheap" filter had, can starve the transmission during spirited driving. Also, because the filter needs be be submerged at all times, this is why its important to have the fluid at the correct level.

Getting the manual is a very good idea. As a added note, MAKE SURE THE TRANS COOLING LINES AND RADIATOR ARE FLUSHED!!!! You don't want to fail the new trans due to junk from the failed unit getting in it left in the trans coolant lines.
Best of luck with your new trans!

I'm gonna get all this info together and make sure that everything it's at the right level for the new transmission!
Thank you all, and I hope that, in some weeks. I will bring you all good news!
I've change my old transmission for a new one. I've just brought it from the USA.
The transmission is working well but, unfortunately, the temperature of the transmission is not. Every time that I start to enjoy my Corvette, the temperature starts to rise. It's not necessary the I accelerate all the time, it happens if I just start to go a little bit faster and stronger than the usual.
It's horrible because I can't enjoy my V8 with 360 hp. Anywhere I go I need to go slowly or the transmission temperature is gonna go to 230 ºF rapidly.
Do you guys have any suggestions for me?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Alex
