I posted this under general questions but should have posted it here. Anyway hope someone might have an idea.
The 2003 car I purchased recently has a Halltech filter. I went to their web site but can not find one that looks like mine. The filter looking from the engine compartment is not accessible from there and I am not able to get it out to clean it or change it. I can just barely see the filter. But mine looks like it is right behind where the license plate would be. If I removed the panel (where the plate would go) would I be able to get to it and if yes how do you get that front panel off?
Does nayone have a Hallteck system like that?
I've got the Halltech Stinger myself but its on top and easily accessible. I don't know which one you have but if its that bad, I would seriously consider removing it. BTW, mine from them is a washable type.
You can remove the front plate with a small phillips srew driver, 2 srews on the bottom, but unless someone has cut a hole there you will not be able to access anything behind it.
Sounds like you have a Trap intake with the tunnel port. You install/remove this air filter from under the car.Remove the six screws that hold the shroud to the bumper. Then you can seperate the bumber enough to remove/install the air filter.I used to have a video of the install but I lost it and the Halltech web page has long removed it.Maybe a google search will find it.It's not a hard job once you have done it once.

Thank you...I think you are right and I will try that. Nobody would have installed that on their car without a way of getting to it i am sure. Thanks again!!
