Go to the top of the page and read the Sticky about your problem.
I had the exact same problem, the GM recall had been done and the message came up and the 2mph cut-off. Mine was the relay in the passenger footwell.
Before anyone can help they will need to know the year, auto or manual, and codes. Post them and lots of people can help you.
Could be several things: battery, K harness, relay, ECBM failed, etc.
ikster thanks for the advise. i tried reseting the pcm by pulling fuses 13 and 26 from the fuse box but still had no luck. i have someone coming over this week to see if the live tune will fix it. thanks again.
thanks for the response. i just put a new battery so i know its not that but i wasnt aware that it could be so many things. i going to take your advise and probably just changr everything out. i have someone coming over this week to do a live reset on the pcm. hoping that will fix it.
marine6989 thanks for the help. im going to do a live reset of the pcm. i hope that fixes the prob.
After I removed the dash and steering column covers, I tried resetting everything and it didn't work. Thats when I broke out the hammer, got the column unlocked then installed the column lock bypass.
My car did the same thing and i was on vacation, are you looking to fix the problem the dealer said it was my steering column lock $900.00 to fix it and i tried all the stuff to fix it new batt relay bypass nothing worked,if your looking to move the car and drive it.give me a call 1978 912 1593,i bypassed mine at the bcm works perfect but the display reads column lock so i just reset it when i start the car.

If the column is NOT locking and you have the 2mph shutoff, a GM dealer did this to the car in one of the many FUBAR'ed recalls on this. One of the final attempts was to remove the locking plate and then program IN the 2 mph cutoff (GM's idea of security with no column lock).
Same problem as me (see my post "Help dealer seems Lost") I made a complaint to GM customer service and was very surprised they have taken an interest in the matter. They have called me every other day and are in contact with the dealer. My car is still at the dealers an I am not sure if they even know what they are doing but will let you all know when I finally get it back. I suggest that everyone with this second go around recall problem contact the National Safety people and file a complaint as I did and from what I got from them I am one of the many that have filed complaints, Maybe just maybe the recall will reopen and GM will have to make a fix that lasts. All C5 owners will have this problem in the future so it is a worthwhile cause.
