Bearing noise
I have an 03 stick and intermittently I hear a noise like a bearing is spinning when I depress the clutch pedal. I mentioned this is my dealer the last time it was in for service and he said it was "normal". Is it?

If you could make a recording of the noise and post would be helpful. The normal sound is documented in a video that came with the new Corvettes, there is also info in the owner's manual about it. It is heard during launch just as the vehicle starts to roll during an easy light load start. It sounds like a rattle with some hiss type character that quickly fades as the engine rpm climbs. It can also be heard if the transmission is lift in neutral, clutch pedal out (engaged) and the ignition turned off. The manual suggest NOT turning off the engine this way as it is hard on the propshaft and couplers.
