Default Best Exhaust clamps

Installing headers soon on my 02Z and I keep reading that some systems come with some really crappy clamps.

Any suggestions? Since my 02Z pipes are 2 1/2 ,the clamps should be same size?

thanx,i appreciate the help.

Which system are you going to go with for longtubes? That will determine the size of clamps that you need and the number of the also. I went with torc tite clamps as they seemed to get some of the best reviews. I had to get six three inch clamps for my system and got them for just under 70$ to my door.

I used the band (could also be called lap) clamps from Napa auto parts. Pretty much the same as the torc tite clamps and they worked well.

With that system you will need two 3" clamps and four 2.5" clamps. I am running the super pros so it is 3" all the way back to the cat back.

Thanks for serving brother!

ADVANCE Auto parts sell some EASY SEAL 3" wide band clamps that work very well and there not all that expensive.

They sell a FLAT clamp and a STEPPED CLAMP. If you need to seal a slip joint, get the step clamp and dont be afraid to use a little HIGH HEAT RED RTV to help seal the joint!

I always apply a little antiseize on the threads to aid in future removals/installs

Hope this helps!

Bill
