Default antenna amp?

Need help,replaced factory radio with new pioner, antenna is pluged in but reception is poor. Radio shop told me the problum is not with the in windshild antennas but is more likely to be the antenna amp is not powered up.did not know a 2004 coupe had suth a thing.Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Did you have a bose system?

And your car has a fixed mast antenna, doesn't it?

I fitted a Pioneer AVIC N1 but didnt have a problem but the Vert has the retractable antenna.

thanks four your input. The car is a 2004 coupe with front and rear windshild antennas no power antenna.It came with the Bose sys.in it I had it replaced with a pioneer AVIC-N3 sys. now reseption sucks.was told car has a power amp just for the antenna.

Search the audio forum on this issue. You might need to get +5V to the antenna amp. (pink wire in the A pillar?)

It does and it needs 5V, not 12V. Check the stereo section.

You said "coupe" and your avatar is a Z06 badge so I thought you had an FRC.

thanks Lothar34, I think I should have posted this in the autio forum but did not konw there was a autio fourm till now.your right i do have a 2002 z06 but this problum is in the wifes 2004 coupe.Im checking out that fourm now,may repost this over there.
