Default TPMS Issue

My LF sensor is bad, will the other three still program, also what is the best magnet to get. 2001 M6 Coupe.

You got it. The other three will function normally.

Any fairly strong magnet will do. I used one off the fridge that always seemed to stick pretty well.

speaker magnet, magnetic parts tray. i've used both with good results

About any mildly strong magnet will do. I actually have one with a GM part number.

But, if the left front is bad, won't the car think (if you start with the rf) that the rf is the lf, rr is rf, and lr is rr? Or if you linger too long at the lf, not program at all and exit the program? It has to see the lf first and if you go to the rf, it assumes that is the lf?

It must be done in the exact order as specified in the owner's manual:
LF RF RR LR

The OP should be thinking about replacing ALL his TPMS sensors.
They are probably the originals, and nearly 11 years old.

And when he does remember to ask for the nuts and seals as well. From GM the sensor comes as just the sensor (valve stem and black piece as an assembly).

'01-'04 sensors have the stem seal already on them. The nuts can usually be cleaned up and reused with the new sensors.
