Default EBCM Repair Options

ABS Fixer offers optional Surge Protection and whatever TPS sealant is. Do I want to get any of these things? Is the sealant just for reinstalling the EBCM or what?

I am new to this stuff and unfortunately need to do this repair a few weeks after buying my car.

I am due for some good car karma at this point!!!

Grim, don't get bummed out, my 02Z that I picked up in July w/15k developed the dreaded 1214 code two weeks after I got it.

I used the auction guy (PM me for details), $50 and all fixed. Buy the Torx 20 drivers from Sears (long & a short) makes the R&R much easier.

I Fedexed the EBCM and he fixed the same day and mailed back my same unit.

What about that other stuff? Should I consider the Surge Protection modification (will it keep this from happening again?) And what is the TPS sealant for?
