Thanks man, looks like a lot of work for one person, but I am sure I can handle it, I did it in the 70's so I can do it now
Was gonna send it out to have heads and cam done, but for $1600 I think I have all winter to do it.

Yep the labor costs is what kills me. I love working on both of my cars but there are some jobs that I'd sometimes rather just pass on lol. But... then again, I don't know if I trust anyone else touching my cars .

Realistically, these motors aren't that bad to work on though. There are some incredibly knowledgeable guys on CF and you have lots of resources so you should be just fine.

If you doing just Cam than look Fbody Cam and valve sping install as well, and than come down at C5:head cam install and look for how to remove rack (for some it was a pain in **** but since iam a mechanic and had no trouble at all just need 18mm flare socket W/long 15-20" extesion, once crack loose than you can use reguler combination wrench. dont move completely just push on passenger side.

If you remove the hood than it makes lot easier, just mark fine sharpe or paint mark right beside hood bolts before remove hood, this way lot easier to install and dont have to align.

ask any question if you need to, its a lot of work but doable.

The radiator isn't hard to remove. The real pain in the *** is the steering rack.
