LS6 Intake
I have a 2004 LS1 and was wondering what the advantage of replacing the intake with an LS6. I plan to add a Vararam and LT headers. Any comments would be appreciated.

None. All intake manifolds are the same from 2001-2004 for LS1/6.

You already have an LS6 intake on your vette..I believe after 01 all LS1's
came with the ls6 intake manifold...adding the vararam and headers with a tune would be a nice upgrade. It won't be a huge horsepower increase, but you'll love the improved acceleration..

Thanks.
So headers and a Vararam won't give very much increase in horse power. I thought I would get at lease 30 ior 40.

same manifold

Yes, that's about the hp increase you would see, not huge but you''ll certainly feel the increased acceleration/throttle response..

At least maybe more with a good tune after it.

97-00 did not come with ls6 manifolds that is incorrect they came with ls1 manifolds. All 01 and up came with ls6 manifolds

Not likely
Getting GOOD LTs, high flow cats, low restrictive mufflers and any GOOD CAI, plus a great dyno tune, then yes 30 maybe 40 hp.
the DYNO tune is the key here

Lots of factors to quote the numbers, but it will be close to your estimate. You will feel it too.

I got close to 40 with my SW 1 7/8 headers and a dyno tune. I already had the intake went from 312 to 342-349(did 3 pulls)

So, does the 2001-2004 swap to the 1998 LS1?

A dyno tune is only good for a couple things
Showing off your numbers to your friends
and tuning for MAX HP and TQ at WOT ONLY
Now a street tune addresses much more---Bottom end ---- launch---
mid range as well as WOT
Especially if you have an auto car trans tuning is huge !!!and that is best done with driving the car----I have seen cars pick up 3-5 tenths in the 1/4 mile simply with trans tuning---Quickening and firming a up the shifting---- extending the WOT shift RPM's ---Deleting TQ management
abuse management----TQ limiting--
