Just figured that I would share my information and the results from my upgrade. All was done on a stock 02 Z06 with just a Vararam intake.
Installed the following:
Torquer V3 cam
.650 double springs
7.45 push rods
LS2 timing chain
Ported oil pump
Summit 25% underdrive pulley
Comp Cams trunion kit
Kooks 1 7/8 headers
3" off road x-pipe to (stock Z06 mufflers)
MSD wires
Tr55 plugs
160* thermostat
Vararam Power duct
Removed air pump and lines
Removed LS6 intake for cleaning
All was done in the garage on jack stands. I took my time and got some pictures as I went. Was very pleased with how easy these cars are to work on, except when installing the Kooks Headers. (pain in the a$$!)
The final results after the dyno tune were 436 Hp and 409 torque. I was very pleased with how the car drove and the extra power. Here are a few of the pictures along the way...
Had to grind a small section of the frame so the header wouldn't rub:
Congrats, nice combination of parts! How's that clutch holding up with the new found power?
Clutch is holding up so far. I know that that is next on the list, I have been keeping a eye on the fluid, and not killing it every where I go (that is so hard though).
Always cool to see an owner tackle these jobs at home in their garage. I'm starting my 5th C5 cam swap this week on a friend's' '99 FRC with a supercharger. They get a little easier each time I do one.
The V3 was my first cam only back in the day. I told people it was in the 440/410 range and people laughed. I hope those same people are lurking in this thread.
Congrats...and don't be suprised if your "cam" only Z whoops some serious a** !!
Thanks......double check your wipe on the VT's, the .645 ain't no joke.

Yeah, I remember reading about your numbers and people didn't belive you, I know every car and dyno is different but it is just a number and I am happy with it. The cam makes torque and power all over the rpms. We did make a pull that was 439/411 but the tuner didn't like having that much timming, and he said that if I was racing it would be different so he adjusted the timming and ended with 436/409 I was very happy. I checked on two different tuners about the cam and both said it would do 425-440 so they were both right.
Thanks

Reason: Numbers
Did you put a tensioner on the LS2 chain? Ive seen many reports that you need something with that chain to keep it from slapping around.
(and you cant use the LS2 tensioner cause the bolt holes dont line up on an Ls6). something to look at.....I went with a Katech chain.
I didn't install a tensioner, but did notice that it seemed a little loose. The people at Texas Speed didn't say anything about it, I asked if there was anything else that I would need to get and he said no. I hope I wont have a problem.
Congrats on your build! Im curious how the Summit pulley (p/n C2503?) Is doing.
Im doing cam swap on my LS2 C6 (224/230 XER273HR Comp) and this pulley is in the build pkg. Should i swap it for a Powerbond or even an ATI...
