Posted earlier. Reset switch was bad, managed to buy a new one part is now obsolete. Mechanic with his Tech II can now get readings for everything except the E/M English/Metric is stuck so he felt cluster needed rebuilt. His contacts said nobody in California does this.
I cannot get readings except warnings.
Anybody had this problem or have advice to offer. Cluster rebuild ? 1999 with 70,000 miles saddens me obsolete parts and problems that have no answer. GM didn't even offer advice to mechanic except your SOL. worst answer yet !
There are numerous C5/C6 salvage yards. The push button switches are a seperate part from the clusted and can be replaced. Check the salvage yards for a set of buttons.
In fact, the buttons can be disassembled. Maybe you can get creative and fix the stuck button.
Only the reset was available seperatly. Did buy whole new off ebay from Corvette Dealer but still not working. Mechanics say has to be in gauge cluster and find nobody to reprogram .Thanks for help, you just might pick up a set of the switches while still available. Found prices rangeing up to $500 saying obsolete, paid $125 also purchased door switches same thing obsolete.
