Default 2003 Z06 Check Engine Light

Driving home from work yesterday and the check engine light came on steady (not flashing). So I got out my trusty $20 code reader and it shows 1416, which my code book describes as "EGR temperature sensor circuit faulty". I've also seen this code described as secondary air injection......It was still on this morning, so I turned it off and it has stayed off so far. Can anyone tell me the correct description for code 1416 and what should be done about it?
Thanks, jcs44

I don't think you have an EGR, check the code from the DIC.

It is the AIR check valve. The good news is that you may be able to get it to work again without replacing it. The bad news is that if you have to replace it, the location is behind the intake manifold, so you will have to remove it. Mine actually threw this code again this morning. It has to do with the emissions start up stuff.

Search on here, there is a thread on how to clean and lubricate the valve with carb cleaner, air, and WD40. Mine did this last year, and I followed the procedure to clean it. This took care of the issue until this morning. I will be doing it again this weekend.
