Default abs/traction control module

I have a 1999 FRC and the traction control and abs lights have stayed on since I bought the car. The car does have c6 z06 style wheels with no tire sensors, could this cause the lights to be on? If not whats the best route to have the module repaired if possible, or buy another one? Either way does anybody know the average price for either or both fixes. Thanks

The NO COMM is your killer, check the connection to the EBCM (unplug, replug the connector)

1st--a tire height change other than stock requirs a tune adjustment in your ECM to make the ABS work correctly--Also you MUST keep the "split" between the front and rear heights close to 1" as possible with the rears being taller--This is not tunable and may cause the ABS not to function or throw codes
The major cause of ABS/TC lights are fouled swheel speed sensor pigtails at each wheel-either weather/dirt fould or even broken wires--check all 4---

True, but that does not account for why the EBCM is not communicating on the class 2.

To the OP, have you check for 12 volts and ground at the EBCM connector?

Depends on the year, the early cars had it all the way in the back of the car about the rearend, the later ones were right behind the radiator.

1/2 year 98 and up are located in the front. Not trying to offend here, but considering you do not know where the ABS is located......do you have a meter, and are you capable of troubleshooting, if schematics are provided?

Thanks for the schematics. Yeah, surprisingly enough some people still do have them repaired. But then again there are a lot of people that just buy cheap tv's and throw them away and get new ones when they break.

Seems to be working for the moment. I went to take the ebcm off today and there was a bunch of corrosion on the plug. Cleaned it off real good started the car and no more abs/active handling light. Thanks for the info guys

The early EBCMs have not been around for a while now. At least not new. They can not be fixed either. Only chance to find one is used and that's a crap shoot if it will work. Very expensive I have heard also. Glad I have an 04. Good luck.
