Default fog light wire

i have a 1999 frc , i want to bypass the factory fog light system and run my own relay and wire harness from the factory switch , to the fog lights, is there a way to cut and slice into the factory harness by the switch ., to make it work ,, my car didnt come with the fog lights , and i know about the small purple wire under the 39 relay ,, i dont want to do that setup ,, i have everything ran to the swicth already and the relay hooked up , the fog light s are there too , just need to know what too splice into , to use the factory switch

If I remember correctly, the factory fog light switch is a momentary, not continuous. You can verify with a meter to be sure.

Best thing to do is test the factory switch, to determine if it is momentary or not.....then you'll know what to do

Correct me if I'm wrong Lucky but wouldn't it have to be continuous to keep the tell tale light illuminated?

I had to fit a rear fog light to comply with UK regulations but I fitted a seperate switch on the kick panel.

Nope. Everything is controlled by the BCM.

Default fog lights

Hi reading your post about the fog lights I've just wired mine in a 2002 Zo6 that didn't that have them as standard. This is the easy and legal way for the UK 1. Buy OEM fog lights from main dealer got mine from Baur Millett at a car show £40 each 2.OEM fog light/boot release switch from ebay $45 3.Fused relay, 3metres of 17amp red and 3 metres black 17 amp electrical cable. Replace the fog light switch it prises out easily and plugs straight in, site the relay close to the battery. If you run the wires to the fog lights down the original wiring loom it looks original. connect everthing up use #39 under the fusebox it lifts up use 1.5 mm wire and scotch lock it.
