Ditto! Never reached the threshold of question-worthy for me but I noticed the rattlesnake! So fellas, is this typical of all manual transmissions or just in the C-5. What's making the sound?

Re: Rattle when shutting off (BLISS)
:yesnod: As they say..."Ain't no thang". Just a slight low frequency shudder as the drive train comes to a halt. Part of the same mechanics that cause the "six speed rattle" when initially accelerating at low speed in first.
:D Welcome to "MN6 land" :D
The sound gets on my nerves, so I usually shut it off with the clutch depressed.
The correct procedure:
1. Depress clutch and brake
2. Place transmission into reverse
3. While keeping clutch and brake depressed, shut engine
4. Now you can take your feet off everything (e-brake is optional).
Advantages - you avoid the shudder, and now your car won't move in spite of the worthless e-brake
