The headlight hinge points use dry teflon bushings. The motor has an actuator arm to open the door, and travels a range limited by bump-stops. The motor has a sealed plastic drive gear inside. When (not if) it fails, you will be re-lubing a big brass gear, or buying a new motor.
Usually the headlight motor gear will strip out, as the range limits are sensed by a high current draw when the motor binds. Repeated binding eventually chews up the gear. There are several threads on the gear replacement if you search.
