Default looking for valvetrain input!!

Hi there everyone. I will be installing my a&a supercharger shortly but will also be installing an ls6 cam as mentioned by Arun. I will be changing my springs, and pushrods.

I am curious what your thoughts are on

1) PAC 1218 springs
2) Manley LS Series Chromoly Pushrods 7.400"

Are these good and will they compliment well with each other? I am also thinking of installing a trunnion kit from comp cams for added protection. Any thoughts on that as well?

Since the cam has very little lift over the stock..pushrods are not needed. they springs will need to be changed, but you can find a set of hardley used springs here on the board..about 25 bux.

Don't waste your money on parts you dont' need.

Are you saying I should pick up a set of stock springs? (Ls6 or ls1?)

The cam with higher lift and the blower will want to make the engine
rev considerably higher. GM used hollow valves (approx. 25 g lighter)
to help the yellow springs keep everything in check.
IMO 2 upgrades are needed here and one optional.
The better pushrods for added valvtrain stability.
Improved valvesprings for not only the RPMs but to help with boost.
Remember Intake valve area (3.14 x diameter) times lbs. of pressure
equals the force trying to open the valve when closed. PSI maxlife
beehives would fit the bill nicely here and have ZERO failures. Many
people get 30,000 plus miles on these without worry.
The trunion upgrade may not be needed but could add insurance.
It seems that higher mileage rockers, .600" lift cams, and dual valve-
spring applications almost require this upgrade.

Personally, I would go with the 11/32" OD Manley pushrods for a stiffer valve train. The stockers flex and with the stiffer springs and with these higher loads a stiffer pushrod will be more stable and provide better results.

I wanted to add that my car is a garage queen and will not see consistent beatdowns at the track, etc. Arun had recommended to just pick up a new set of ls6 springs and leave the stock rods but I wanted to hear what others thought.
