Default Problem with Throtle Body

Polished the outside suface of my TB, after reinstall started throwing 1516 code. So I get a known working complete TB off Blitzkrieg(great guy great transaction) put it on my car everythings fine. Take the TPS, and motor off the working TB put it on the polished one back to throwing code 1516. Its obvious that its the TB itself, but what cuould possibly be wrong with it?

Does the throttle blade move smoothly and can it be pushed WIDE OPEN and when its released it SHOULD flop back to somewhere close to shut?

Your throttle blade will never be fully shut when the car is running because the PCM sets the blade open position for idle.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I can not see how a metal throttle body can have any effect on throttle sensor performance unless its causing:

-Some BINDING

-Some lost motion between the motor and the shaft OR the shaft and the sensor.

IMHO,,, I would look closer at the connectors and wiring and the female pins in the connectors as a possible cause.

If your loosing contact on one or more of the pins in the sensor or motor, that could cause the issue.

THOUGHTS????

Well I can now tell you exactly how. All you have to do is put the blade in backwards. I am such a BONE HEAD. I got to comparing the two TBs and there it was. Bill thank you for responding and I'm so sorry for wasting your time. The only good thing about the whole situation is I'm able to change out a TB in 4.8 minutes. Yes I timed it.

Amazing how quickly you can do something after the fourth of fifth time. Glad you found your problem!
